OPIFICIO

Brand identity – Art direction
for artistic collective

The local art scene is the key element to promote strongly characterized musical events that reach the Venetian citizenship, encouraging participation and social integration.

Project

Opificio is a collective resulting from the aggregation of local professional and cultural experiences that give life to a place in motion, which incorporates those who find it and those who create it, putting them in the same conditions to be surprised.

The communication consists of paper flyers placed in urban meeting places, bars, “bacari” and stores. The reference to past ways and spaces of aggregation recreates a pure interest that revives the spirit. It plays with the experiences of users and their memories, evoking imagery familiar to many, through a reworking of graphic settings of repertoire, from VHS to vinyl, creating a memorabilia of collectible elements.

Infographic

For the final exhibition, the 26th Course in Curatorial Practices and Contemporary Arts asks a group of national and international artists to present works that confront a series of environmental, structural, socio-economic and cultural emergencies that plague Venice.

Project

The project starts from an empirical and theoretical analysis of the critical issues affecting the city, its inhabitants and its visitors and tries to tell them. The young curators have investigated the socio-cultural and environmental situation of Venice, which becomes an emblem of global problems that risk becoming irreversible.

Surijewelry

WP website design

Giulia Vecchiato (Suri) bases her narrative on the magic of small objects, of subtle treasures, of the preciousness of every imperfection. Each piece is elegant and raw, fragile and monumental, visual and literary, ancient and contemporary.

For her, jewels are like poetic incrustations that allude to a forgotten imagination, like something that remains submerged at the bottom of the sea and unexpectedly returns to shore.

Her ethical philosophy does not include the idea of a serial and continuous production of objects, it is fundamental to emphasize the individual dignity of each of her handmade creations, to make the customer understand the original and precious nature behind each jewel. Every year SURI realizes a small production of unique pieces.

Each piece seeks to reveal its strength, preciousness, or- ganicity and fragility.

Occupy Santa Marta

Poster design – Urban Study

The objective is to represent Venice, a city of planetary success, today crossed by growing processes of conversion of houses, stores, theaters, churches, in places intended only for consumption and mass tourism.

Project

This Venetian narrative, which now seems the only one possible, is opposed by the proud inhabitants of Santa Marta, a neighborhood on the edge of the city and, perhaps for this reason, still resistant. Occupy Santa Marta is the megaphone that gives voice to the testimony of these residents. A counterintuitive narrative, though possible, to the disruptive processes of gentrification that pervade the city.

Object.ini

Brand identity

These jewels are born from the fusion and crystallization of tin “Lead Free”. Result of the processing of defined and undefined shapes, which encapsulate the beauty of the process of realization, assumptions that also the visual identity of this brand tries to represent.

The so-called “objectini” are created using coils of tin (97% tin and 3% silver), melted using a soldering iron and then shaped with the same.

The design process started with a geometric shape and ended with a fluid organic form, which seems to melt like molten metal.

Square Frames

Personal illustration project

In February 2020 I started to depict anything that caught my eye, making illustrations in marker pen and collecting them in a small A5 volume. The subjects chosen are the most varied, taken from photos, magazines, newspapers or portraits from life, completely abstract or still life.

Each image is always enclosed within a square, drawn freehand, as if to capture a frame of my daily life.

Slot-It

Product design

Realization of moulds for Murano blown glass.

Project

An in-depth study of Murano glass molds has revealed one constant element: the mold creates a single shape. Why not make it possible to create several shapes with a single mold?

Slot-it is a modular revolutionary mold, consisting of two main parts: a constant external matrix and interchangeable internal modules, which vary only in the internal profile that will then be in direct contact with the glass.  Setting up the mould is simple and intuitive. The possibility to select different modules allows to create many solutions according to the needs: from only seven different internal geometries it is possible to create many solutions.
